…when choosing your next Digital Agency.

It’s time for you to start looking for another Digital Agency. Maybe its the first time you want to engage an agency, or maybe you’ve been burnt (we have heard SO many horror stories) – regardless, we want to help show you the things to watch out for. The Red Flags.

1 | RED FLAG ONE — WHOSE PIXEL IS IT ANYWAY

If your new agency is going to be looking after your Facebook Ads, and they are wanting to use THEIR pixel on your website, run. Think about it – they will collecting the data you are paying for, and potentially using it for themselves. Be very careful with this one.

2 | RED FLAG TWO — YOU CAN’T SEE YOUR OWN ADS

Again, if your agency is working in Facebook Ad Land, and they want to run your ads in THEIR account, run. Any decent agency worth their salt will ethically want to run your ads in your account, so you can see everything that is happening, in real time. If the ads are in THEIR account, you actually have no idea what is happening.

3 | RED FLAG THREE — HOW DOES IT ALL WORK ANYWAY

No-one expects you to understand the intricacies of digital marketing – that’s why you are getting an agency after all. But having a knowledge of the strategy, the rationale, the expectations, these are all things that you should be cognizant of.

4 | RED FLAG FOUR — DON’T BE BEHOLDEN

If you are using websites as part of your process (as you should be) then make sure the website is built in open-code rather than proprietorial. Open source code means that you can find someone else to maintain and edit your website. Proprietorial means that you can only work with that particular agency, and you may end up paying more than you should, plus be beholden with time frames.

5 | RED FLAG FIVE — YOU DON’T REALLY LIKE THEM

If you think that these folk are not really the sort of people you want to hang around with, and share a beer or a coffee, maybe they aren’t the right fit for you, Just a thought.
